Frequently Asked Questions

What are the audio quality settings of my new recordings?

The answer to this question varies by recording. In the product listing, look for quality settings, which will tell you bitrate, sampling rate, and whether the recording is monoaural or stereo. 128kbps is our high-quality setting; it is roughly equivalent in quality to a Compact Disc (CD). We also offer medium-quality recordings at 56kbps (for voice-only) and 96kbps (for recordings with drama and/or music).

56kbps is roughly equivalent to AM radio quality, and 96kbps is very close to FM radio quality.

Each product page has a Play Sample button that, when clicked, will play a selection from the recording so you can hear the narrator's voice and judge the audio quality settings for yourself.
